A Kids' Book Review (by a kid!)
12-year-old Harriet reviews Danielle Binks' new middle-grade book, Six Summers of Tash and Leopold.
"I just finished Six Summers of Tash and Leopold and it was so good. I loved it because it had so many characters' lives woven together to make the story. I liked that there were parts where you got to hear about the past.
It was sometimes sad but the sad parts had so many layers. For me it was about how complicated the past and the present can be and how sometimes nothing is like it seems – you can’t control everything, all you can do is the best you can.
The friendship between Tash and Leo is super real and it’s not like anything I’ve ever read before. It’s so complicated but I think it’s more like how friendships are in real life. Tash is awesome because she’s strong and smart, but also not perfect, which made me like her even more.
I liked how the characters try to help one another in different ways and I love how the ending isn’t perfect but it ends just as things start to get better.
10/10 from me!"
